Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 488 - Makeup and Beauty Blog

Centre see you, Monday!

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Well, it isn't exactly a poll. It's more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I've been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past 10 (!) years. (It'due south similar a kickstart for your brain.) I've e'er enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I promise you relish reading mine.

1. What was the last drugstore beauty product yous bought at an bodily drugstore (yeah, Target counts)?

Information technology was a refill pack of Venus razors, which, FYI, they keep on lockdown at Target these days! You can't just curl up and grab a pack of Venus refills off the shelf anymore.

Anyway, I bought the pack with the 3 blades because, honestly, who needs v blades?? I feel like three is plenty, LOL.

ii. Who taught you lot how to cook?

A friendly gal named "The Internet!" Just seriously, in my family unit… Well, I'll give my parents props considering there was e'er food on the table, and the food was always dwelling-cooked, which, every bit you know as a busy developed, is really hard to exercise.

But my parents weren't and aren't foodies. Preparing food was more of a task they had to get washed than something inspirational or creative, so there were many meals with meat that tasted like an onetime shoe. You ate it and moved on with your life.

So cooking wasn't a high priority for me growing upwards, and I didn't really learn much nigh it until my 30s, which is when I discovered nutrient blogs!

three. What's a concept or a technique that helps you become through your days?

I need to believe that every task I complete gets me closer to some goal I've set for myself.

And, you know, the goal doesn't have to be a huge thing. Information technology tin can be something small like making time to jump on the treadmill in the afternoon, meeting my writing borderline for the twenty-four hours, or taking a five-infinitesimal walk with Connor…

I just similar to feel that every job has a purpose and moves me closer to achieving something else, and when I realize sometimes that I'm busy, but I'one thousand busy doing things that weren't fifty-fifty on my list, I start to spiral…

4. Limited your electric current mood using only emojis.

5. What'due south 1 of your long-term goals?

This is like my own personal NeverEnding Story, simply it'south to finally, eventually, someday get my business firm to where I know exactly where everything is, and there'due south no wasted infinite. Not fifty-fifty in the closets! My deadline date for this is January i, 2018.

To this terminate, I have to remind myself all the time that everything doesn't have to be perfect! This is an outcome that has plagued me for most of my adult life. If left to my ain devices, I go paralyzed by the thought of doing a half-@ssed task on a task because of not having enough time and having it non turn out exactly the way I want it, so I end up not doing annihilation about it at all…

I constantly demand to remind myself to arctic and accept that on some days, l% is going to exist the best I can do.

And so this is a gentle reminder to myself and to you that everything doesn't have to be perfect. Ya just gotta go far there and do something!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
